INTACH stands for Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage, a national level organization with a mission to preserve the living, built and natural heritage by undertaking necessary actions and measures.

INTACH chapter of Kanpur was inaugurated on 17th November, 2003 with the initiative of Shri Govind Hari Singhania. Under his patronage, unprotected buildings of Kanpur were documented, buildings of architectural, aesthetical significance and places of cultural significance were noted as a step towards formulating conservation plans.

INTACH is now an integral part of our institution and has many students volunteering active membership who have undertaken the responsibility of protecting the environment and heritage – whether it is preserving the character, beauty and greenery of the neighborhood locality or conserving the glory of nationally acclaimed monuments.

It was due to the sincere efforts of our former Chairman Late Shri Govind Hari Singhania that many other eminent industrialists, academicians, students of various schools, colleges and senior citizens concerned about the conservation of environment and heritage are now associated with the INTACH chapter of Kanpur.
