Satti Chaura Ghat, also known as Massacre Ghat, is a highly significant ghat in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. It is located on the bank of River Ganges in Kanpur Cantonment near Jajmau and was once called Sati Chaura, named after the women who committed Sati. The ghat gained immense importance during the Rebellion of 1857, when British soldiers were brutally killed here.Nana Rao Park or Company Bagh, a public park situated in Kanpur, was constructed in honour of Nana Sahib after Indian independence. The location was previously known as Memorial Well. Bithoor, a town in Kanpur District, is situated on the right bank of the River Ganges and is a major Hindu pilgrimage center. It is known for housing the Sita Rasoi and for being the centre of the War of Independence of 1857, as Nana Sahib, a popular freedom fighter, was based there.
